Here’s a nice little gem from one of the GUiDE’s favorite bands, the Old 97’s. For someone like me who has been trying forever to write a new Christmas song that captures the goods of the classics, it was nice to find this recent track where Rhett, Murray, Ken and Philip do just that.
BTW, the lads from Texas also did a couple of X-Mas tracks years before this one, Holly Jolly Christmas and I’ll Be Home for Christmas, both complete with horn section, but these are proving harder and harder to track down. Poke around on the Internets for these lost treasures when compiling your next X-Mas mix and you won’t be sorry.
